Welcome

The Michigan Academy of Emergency Services was established to provide superior education to those who have the desire to attain the knowledge necessary to help those who cannot help themselves.

The education acquired here is not limited to the fundamentals of providing a service, but includes a commitment to quality and the attitude of truly caring about those we are preparing to serve.

Our instructors are experts in their field and have years of emergency response experience as well as years of adult education experience.

Our instructors believe in “hands-on” training whenever it is possible. This is accomplished by assuring that the learner has a knowledge base which is reinforced by practical skills and then melded into actual response exercises.

Call us at 734-753-9991 for more information, or mail of fax us a registration form. Make as many copies as necessary.

 announcements

MAES is pleased to announce that we have been awarded the exclusive contract to provide EMS education to the Wayne-Westland Community Schools William D. Ford Career/Technical Center.  Beginning in the 2009 - 2010 academic school year MAES will be offering two Basic-EMT courses (a.m. and p.m.) to high school seniors.

After successful completion of the course and the National Registry of EMTs (NREMT) written examination, students are eligible to be licensed by the State of Michigan as a Basic-EMT.

MAES and WWCS are excited to be able to offer these courses to students.  This will give our young adults an opportunity to begin their working lives with the education necessary to begin a rewarding career in public service.

Over the past several years MAES, in cooperation with the Westland Firefighters Local 1279, has offered Basic-EMT/Paramedic scholarships to WWCS seniors.  These scholarships have a combined total of over $30,000.00 in tuition, textbooks. am other materials.  MAES and Westland Firefighters Local 1279 will continue to offer these scholarships in the future.
